Blackburn Rovers Ladies drew 2-2 at Stockport County in the Women's Northern Combination League.

Rovers were losing 1-0 at half time, but ten minutes after the break, Lisa Walsh equalised to set up an exciting final period bringing them level.

Skipper Justine Wallis put Rovers in the lead after 75 minutes by scoring a spectacular goal straight from a corner. And she was so confident of scoring, she bet the linesman a pint it would go in!

But Stockport didn't give up and hit back in the last minute to earn a share of the points.

Rovers manager Wayne Riley said: "We should have won the game really, we were the stronger team. Our goalkeeper Andrea Murray was out with a broken finger, leaving center forward Nicola Dentrith in charge of the net, and she did a fantastic job".

Rovers' home game against Blackpool this weekend has been cancelled, but they are all geared up to face Leeds City Vixens away the following week. And on October 28 they go head to head with Chester in the FA Cup first round.

"We have a very strong team and we have a very good chance of making progress," said Riley. "Plus we have signed left back Helen Pagan from Stockport and Angela Ralph will return from suspension mid-October so our squad should be strengthened even further."
